Who Hates Whom?

Steve Blackwell has a blog I’ve been following recently called Indy Watchman. Last month he had written a post that floored me called “Christian Hatred Getting Worse.”

One thing I noticed during this last election is all the hatred I saw against Christians and family values. Notably in California, since we had to re-vote on Proposition 8, the left-wing folks wanted to paint us that we, who believe in conservative Christian values, are “haters,” a la “stop the hate.”

Who Hates Whom?

In any case, if you haven’t clicked to read Steve’s post yet, please do so. I’d be curious to get your feedback and thoughts on it.

A verse I just ran across tonight–which I think was no accident–sums it up as a reminder to us Christians:

Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you. –1 John 3:13.

Wow. Jesus said similar words as well, telling us to expect persecution. He told the disciples that if the world hates you, remember it hated Him first (John 15:18).

May He Increase!

Joe, we Americans are spoiled! The faith does well at the point of a sword. I think we are going to see more and more of this as we head for the last last days.

      Willis,

So true. We can worship and attend services with no fear of being shot at or bombed (for the most part…there have been rare occasions this past year where that hasn’t been the case). On one hand, thank God for our safety. But until something like that bumper sticker comes along, we have no clue what real persecution is like, myself included.

I believe the evidence of last days surround us. This is no time to get complacent and comfy.

Thanks for visiting and for your comments!

      Joe.
