I had a comment from my previous post on C.S. Lewis’ quote from “Mere Christianity.” Based on the comment, I think I did a disservice by only quoting the end of it. Shame on me for doing that. If you remove context from quotes, you can sometimes obscure its meaning. I think that’s what happened with that post.

C.S. Lewis
So I’d like to now give a more full treatment to Lewis’ quote here.
“God is going to invade this earth in force. But what is the good of saying you are on His side then, when you see the whole natural universe melting away like a dream, and something else–something it never entered your head to conceive–comes crashing in; something so beautiful to some of us, and so terrible to others, that none of us will have any choice left? For this time it will be God without disguise; something so overwhelming that it will strike either irresistible love or irresistible horror into every creature. It will be too late then to choose your side. There is no use of saying you choose to lie down when it has become impossible to stand up. That will not be the time for choosing; it will be the time when we realize it before or not. Now, today, is the moment, is our chance to choose the right side. God is holding back, to give us that chance. It will not last forever. We must take it or leave it.” –C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity.
Again, my apologies for not fully quoting it before. May Lewis’ words resonate in our hearts and be expectant of our Redeemer’s return!
May He Increase!

Thanks for the great Lewis quote. After God and my family, I think he was the person who most helped me get through high school! His writings are so insightful and encouraging.
Hi there!
Thanks for stopping by. I think there is much truth packed into the quote.
Great to see you and AMR on Sunday. I hope you’re feeling better!
