I like C. S. Lewis but I do no think God is holding back. We love Him because He first loved us. He also chooses us in order for us to choose Him. It takes more power of God to raise one dead sinner to life than all the power of God in creation.

Thanks for visiting. Perhaps I did the quote a disservice by only quoting the last portion. God is giving us the opportunity now to repent and choose Christ as our Lord and Savior. When He comes again in His Glory, you won’t have an opportunity to choose. It’s going to be too late. I’ll post the full quote tomorrow.
But God does love each of us. Truly. He loves us so much that He allows us to choose to love Him. He does not force us to love Him. If He did, that’s not love, that’s coercion. God loves us so that risked everything to allow us the choice to choose. He risked it all by sending us His only begotten Son to take our sin upon Himself to redeem us. His love for us cost Him more than we probably will ever realize; that is, until we meet Him face-to-face.
