One Way

In my reading today, I came across a passage in Isaiah that really struck me. I had underlined it previously, but it hit me in a whole new way today.

"You are my witnesses," declares the Lord, "and my servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me. I, even I, am the Lord, and there is no savior besides Me. It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed, and there was no strange god among you; so you are My witnesses," declares the Lord, "And I am God. Even from eternity I am He, and there is none who can deliver out of My hand; I act and who can reverse it?" --Isaiah 43:10-13. (Emphasis added.)

Have you ever opened up the Bible and read a truth that you've known for a long time but it hits you again as if it's the first time seeing it? That's how this passage struck me. Not only is it black and white, but I find great comfort in it. It's reassuring to me. It's as if God wanted me to know that He is in control and I can trust Him with everything, because He is my everything!

How does this passage strike you?

  1. I think it is a great passage.

I especially like the first sentence where He reminds us that He has chosen us!

      Steve,

Good morning. Thanks for stopping in again.

The verse is actually God speaking to His people Israel. He is reminding them that He has chosen them to be His witnesses. He also reminds them (and all of us) "there is no Savior besides [Him]." In other words, "all roads do not lead to God."

      Have a blessed week, Steve.
