Friday Link Love! Episode 2

Posted By Joe on April 3, 2009

Episode 2! I'm handing out the link love to:

  1. One of my regular commenters here at May He Increase is Ike. I've gotten to know him a little and I've grown quite fond of him. Recently he told me his son, Josh, has a blog over at Truth Matters. Lots a great videos Josh has, but the main page I was interested in is concerning his mom (Ike's wife) Carol. I humbly ask my readership if you could remember Carol in your prayers.
  2. Wednesday, April 1, would have been Christopher Laurie's 34th birthday. Christopher, as you might know, is Greg Laurie's son who was taken home about 9 months ago. Greg posted a heartfelt remembrance in honor of his son's 34th birthday.

  3. Michael Spencer's Internetmonk last Friday, he had a wonderful post on "Looking for an Exit From the Journey with Jesus."
  4. Dan Edelen, of Cerulean Sanctum, earlier this week did an investigation on "Purpose--And Why Christian Men Don't Always Have Theirs." This has been, and I pray decreasingly so...me.
  5. With Good Friday approaching, it's good to have reminders of what Christ did for us. At Simply Life In Christ, Jill posted a great video message from John Piper. (HT: Shane at Caffeinated Thoughts)
  6. Steven Camp of Camponthis has an awesome list of what the local churches should look like. (HT: Defending. Contending.)
  7. If you have nothing to do today, or at least maybe take the time on your lunch hour, trying taking the Quiz on music lyrics over at Defending/Contending.
  8. As a former journalist (not the kind that writes for newspapers...the one that obsessively has to write in a daily diary), I loved Deminan Farnworth's post on how to keep a journal in 20 easy steps.
  9. My brother Jeff Musgrave posted one of the more chilling things I've read in a long while, "Murderous Pride."
  10. One of my biggest hot buttons is the prosperity gospel and pastors like Joel Osteen. Shane Vander Hart posted about the latest chapter of "Christless Christianity" regarding "The Smooth Talking False Gospel."
  11. There's always intense discussion over at Ray Comfort's Atheist Central. He posted about a unique problem for atheists.
  12. Part of me isn't even sure I should mention this one. Defending/Contending posted about NewSpring church's opening worship song for their Easter Sunday service. I was trying to find a way to confirm that this was a mistake but...well...no, it's really going to happen.

Thanks for the cool links. I really enjoyed the one about journaling :)

    • Joe says:

Demian is great guy (the journaling link). I'm so blessed to have found his blog. I should start journaling again but right now it's difficult enough keeping up with my blogging. I'm glad you got something out of this week's "Link Love."

  2. Jeff M says:

    Joe,
Thanks for the link man. I was reading your post yesterday and was all ready to make a comment, but my schoolwork or something distracted me and I lost my train of thought completely. I added your blog into my google reader homepage thing, which I have never used before. I am still trying to decide what I think of it (the reader page, not your blog. I like your blog very much). I will run back through and try and recollect my thoughts to comment on yesterday's post.

    • Joe says:

Jeff, it's my honor and pleasure to send some links your way. With the quality of your blog being what it is, don't be surprised if I'm sending folks your way every week! :-)

And yes, please come back and share your thoughts on yesterday's post. I was just telling my wife about your response and how good it makes me feel knowing that I actually have Pastors reading my blog and commmenting. Have a great weekend, Jeff.
