Going on a road with a 16 month old son isn’t much fun. Well at times it can be but for the most part it’s a lot of extra work. Traveling with with a 16 month son who is cutting 3-4 new teeth including at least one new molar…well, let’s just say that I didn’t get much sleep on our mini-vacation.
The morning after I got home and went back to work, I had what I thought was an allergy flare up. Unfortunately, it’s turned into a cold. My son is obviously still too young to go to school, but since we’ve had him, in the last year I’ve had more colds than I’ve had in the past 3-4 years combined. I shudder to think of what we’re going to experience when he starts going to school and brings home all sorts of pathogens.
But I digress….
It was my wife’s birthday yesterday. Between having to work, dealing with the effects of the cold and putting the party together, I have not had an opportunity to prepare anything beyond yesterday.
I’ve been considering changing my blogging schedule to just Monday through Friday or something else. My “tent making trade” has been picking up in volume so the time I’ve had to devote here has been reduced in the last couple of weeks.
God is leading us through a very difficult time in the life of our family. We’re under great financial stress right now, we’re trying to get our 15 year old son through high school, we’re trying to raise and nurture our 16 month old son and we’re just dealing with the daily issues of being a blended family. At times it’s very difficult, bordering on unbearable. I ask myself sometimes how much God will continue to allow us to endure.
But I am fully aware of the pruning that I still God to put me through. I have so much refining to go through and so when things get tough I will ask myself: “When are you just going to realize that God is in control no matter how bad it looks?” He is the vine and I’m just a tiny little branch with a bunch of thorns and thistles God needs to prune away. Apart from Him, I can do absolutely nothing (John 15:5).
Thank you and God bless you, my readership. You have given me much encouragement in these past few months. I appreciate each of you and I blessed to have you in my life!
May He Increase!
