Today, May 7, 2009 is the National Day of Prayer.

Please be praying for our nation today (and always). Don’t know where to start? Pray through 2 Chronicles:
…and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. –2 Chronicles 7:14.
May He Increase!

Joe,
As always……I appreciate your faithfulness. Thanks for reminding all believers about this very important verse. My old Scofield starts this verse in 2 Chronicles with the word “if”. That makes it a promse from God with a condition. With God “anything” is possible but I think “we” in America are failing the “if”. I hope I am wrong on this one!!
Again……your “faithfulness” is a breath of fresh air. This is what pleases the Lord! I am getting pretty old now and wish I could go back and make good on so many wasted years…..but I can’t…….I just pray that will finish well. I urge you Joe…….don’t be like me……live dangerously for the Lord. Give Him your all. You are so young and you will NEVER regret living every day…..faithfully for Him! I am praying for you and your family. I pray the He will take your children and give them to His Son. I also pray that He would give you clarity in whatever He has in store for you. You have such a wonderful love for the Lord and His Word………….He “will” give you the desires of your heart!!!!
Ike, please remember that the verse is for God’s people called by “His name.” So, it isn’t necessarily for say, all of the USA, but for all of the church in the USA (and the world). We Christians need to turn from our wicked ways and seek God’s face! It was a real eye-opener when I realized this.
My brother, you are a gift from God for me. Truly. You have encouraged and supported me for these past months and I’m so grateful to you. God is working through you, Ike, to support this little ministry. My prayer is like yours: I do pray and desire for both of my boys to live their lives for Christ. Nothing would give me more joy that for both of them to serve the Lord with all their heart.
Our beginnings are necessarily important, as you know. It’s how we finish. We’re not too far apart in age, I don’t think. I’m quickly approaching what I feel is the second half of my life. Up until now, I’ve not done all I could do for the Kingdom. I want my second half to marked by the upward call of Christ and to serve Him. I covet your prayers for clarity for God’s will for my life and for my obedience to whatever He asks of me. His will be done, not mine!
God bless you, Ike. May His light continue to shine in your life and may His abundant grace and peace fill you and Carol.
Thanks Joe……..and “we” are twenty years apart. Of course you’re the elder!!!!!!
Ike, yeah, but you keep me young! :-)
It is kind of sad that the Bush prayer breakfast tradition will not be carried on by our new President. Well, we can still pray, Praise God!
Amen, Will.
And pray we shall!
