By now you’ve certainly have heard about Laura Ling and Euna Lee’s sentencing in North Korea to 12 years in a forced labor camp.

These women are being given this harsh sentence for simply crossing the border into North Korea from South Korea. As I understand it, they may not have even been aware that they did. In any event, they aren’t terrorists and they weren’t out to spy on North Korea. This wasn’t a military action, for crying out loud. I simply cannot fathom the terror they both must be experiencing right now. My heart goes out to their families. This whole situation is horrible.
In any event, we need to keep these women in prayer!
UPDATE 08/04: Former President Clinton today met with the president of North Korea who finally pardoned Ling and Lee.

Joe,
You are so right. This is absolutely a travesty.
That despicable regime (dictator) is a scourge on this earth and is evil personified.
I pray that they will be released soon and reunited with their families.
Thanks, Joe.
Thank you, Steve.
The days are evil. The thing that just makes me so mad about this is that Ling and Lee were there to do a story on women in Korea. They weren’t spying. They aren’t part of the military. They were there on a humanitarian mission, if you will.
I’m with you Joe in joining you in prayer for these ladies. I also would like to see Obama shoot down those missles they keep testing. We have become a “sissy” nation. I wonder what Reagan would do???
P.S. Not to change the subject…but I’ll say the same thing to you as I did Steve a while back. Only a few years ago I remember reading about the “big quake” that was going to happen that would send California into the ocean. It seems like your state is going down in debt way before the quake!!!! Maybe you better send Arnold back to making movies!
Ike,
We may be shooting down more than test missiles. Just last night on CNN they reported that North Korea is taking an offensive stance on firing their nukes. They made some pretty bold statements. God-willing it’s just chest thumping, but with a rogue nation like they are, God help us all.
In terms of the Golden State–I use the term very loosely–my understanding is that the state cannot legally go bankrupt. Don’t ask me what that means or how that is possible. It’s completely ridiculous how much “money” is in this state, yet we can’t pay our bills and our educational system is near or at the bottom of the rung. I would love to get out of here, but since I’ve lived here all my life, it’d be difficult to leave. But then again, you never know what God has planned for us. I always wanted to live in the country….
