After considering the things that God hates, it would seem that He reminded me that it is good that we keep in mind our sinfulness and recognize that we indeed have a sin nature.
He also reminded me that once we recall our sins, He is more than willing to forgive us.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. –1 John 1:9.
I love this verse. Some of the most profound passages in the Bible are also the most simple. In this single verse–commonly considered “the Christian’s/Believer’s bar of soap”–we are shown both God’s justice and His abundant love for us.
The key to remember is that the only way this verse works is by the blood of Jesus. Only through that vehicle can God have fellowship with us. Only by God shedding His own blood and paying the penalty for our sins can He once again have communion with us.
I find so much comfort in this. God went to unbelievable lengths to draw me back to Him. He loves me! He loves you!
Is He calling you into a new relationship with Him?
May He Increase!
